The 1st Sigma-1 Europe Training School

The 1st Sigma-1 Europe Training School brought together 29 early-career researchers from across Europe for four days of intensive training, scientific exchange, and practical learning.

The programme covered key aspects of Sigma-1 receptor research, including computational techniques, sustainable synthetic approaches, drug developability assessment, and methods for evaluating drug affinity and activity. Hands-on sessions gave participants the opportunity to explore these approaches in practice and to exchange ideas with experts and peers.

Beyond its educational dimension, the Training School also created space for collaboration and networking among young scientists, contributing to the development of a research community in this field.

What is COST?

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.

COST ACTION CA23156

The SIGMA-1 EUROPE Action is dedicated to promoting excellence in research and innovation related to sigma-1 receptor physiopathology and therapeutic applications across multiple fields. This initiative fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to drive breakthrough science and technological advancements in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical development.
